The Illinois city of Chicago is considered the biggest city within the United States with more than 3 million people. Chicago City has lots of monikers, including "The Second City", "The City of Big Shoulders" and "The Windy City." Situated on the shores of Lake Michigan within the heart of the Midwest, it is the 3rd most inhabited city within the US.

The city of Chicago has a gorgeous lakefront that has drawn lots of visitors and tourists all-year round. The city of Chicago also boasts of various entertaining and performing arts. Improvisational theatre is a modern branch of traditional theatre. There are two renowned comedy troupes that are quite well-known within Chicago: I.O. and The Second City. Other theater companies comprise the Goodman Theatre, the Victory Gardens Theatre, and the Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Visitors who wish to watch Broadway entertainment at theatres can visit Drury Lane Theatre Water Tower Place, Cadillac Palace Theatre, Auditorium Building of Roosevelt University, Ford Centre for the performing Arts Oriental Theatre and the bank of America Theatre. For music fans, there are classical music presentations provided by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, which is referred to as amongst the best orchestras within the world. A more diverse and multicultural counterpart of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra is the Chicago Sinfonietta. For concerts outside, there is the Millenium Park, Grant Park and Ravinia Park. For dance and Ballet enthusiasts, there are the the Chicago Festival Ballet, the Jeoffrey Ballet and the Hubbarb Street Dance Chicago. Music lovers can even get a taste of live music from the Chicago Soul, Chicago Blues, gospel and jazz. Yearly music festivals, like for instance Lollapalooza, the Intonation Music Festival, and Pitchfork Music Festival are amongst the great music highlights each and every year.

For tourists, the city provides numerous attractions, like for instance The Art Institute's Modern Wing, the Millenium Park, The Chicago Cultural Centre and Skydeck Chicago's The Ledge.
